Box Bookcase

As an example of what can be done, this bookcase has contemporary stylings, but still uses traditional techniques. Each oak box that makes up the bookcase has 24 hand-cut dovetails, for a total of 168 for the entire piece. The walnut base utilizes hand-cut keyed center lap joints. The box finish was inspired by the sculptures of Barbara Hepworth with it's white and natural wood.
